At a very young age Gray was shunned by his own parents. They would hit him for no reason. They would scream at him for no reason. His childhood was full of hatred and anger.One night while Gray was in his room, sitting in a corner, crying and shaking with bruises and cuts all over his body...a neighbor finally decided to step in. They had called the cops. The cops barged in, arresting Gray’s parents for child abuse and they took Gray to an orphanage, due to no family relatives wanting to take in the “disappointment” of the family.They dragged Gray in as Gray screamed and protested. He didn’t want to be there. He wanted to run away and be independent. But he had no choice. Gray Casey Brooks was going to be an orphan.Gray grew up a reckless child. Getting arrested for stealing. Being brought back by the same officer who brought him to the orphanage in the first place. Gray was a damaged mess. Gray took up smoking and got involved with the wrong group of people. Though he did break away from the group a lot to be out on his own.But whenever he actually was in the orphanage with nothing better to do...he would play his guitar and sing. The guitar was given to him by his aunt who felt he had potential. She passed away due to her long battle of depression. And Gray was heartbroken. She passed away when he was young but he still understood. And it broke him. He always wore an old necklace she used to wear all the time. He still wears it. In honor of her.Gray still smokes and he got into alcohol while being stuck in the orphanage. he had eventually gotten kicked out once she turned 18. since then, gray couch hops. he works more than one job to scrape up any money he can, performing music on the side whenever he can.

And so he walked into none other than the Alibi. He asked Kev and Vi for a job, almost pleading, explaining his situation. Kev and Vi of course felt bad for the young person that would just keep begging for a job every other week. In the end, gray, somehow, at the age of 18, earned a job at the bar, while performing music on the side.

There were no prints picked up, in fact it became a big case, Gray being the first suspect.when being proven innocent, gray started to do research on what could’ve killed his parents, although angry at them he was still curious. this was when he started to hear of things such as demons, angels, etcetera.one night, while he was couch hopping after being kicked out of the orphanage, he was at least 20-21 by this point, he had gotten closer to figuring out what killed his parents. but despite this, he got attacked by a demon. through the fighting for his life, he managed to kill the demon. however he didn’t do it alone…he had the help of the winchesters after they busted into the place to help gray. since then, he had started hunting while trying to live a musician’s life on the side.gray never really had anyone to look up to, until he met the winchesters. gray would watch how each of them acted and took notes. dean for his strong willed personality, his playful demeanor, yet his strict demeanor all in one, as well as his cunningness. and sam for his loyal personality, his softer demeanor yet also his stern attitude when needed. gray put both together and became who he is. although being a musician, he still lived the hunting life, it was in his blood. upon meeting the winchesters, he also met bobby, a hunter who not only gained his respect, but also his admiration. bobby had gone through far too much, that he took notes on how bobby treated the winchester boys, not once letting those things get in the way of how he treated them…treating them like his own…even treating gray like his own. and gray never had this much of a father figure to really look up to but he was sure glad to find bobby when he did.when becoming roommates with an angel, blake tucker (@ANGELICHUES_), things would start to change. he never had time for touring anymore due to the hunting life consuming his every waking moment. and little did he know that blake was an angel…he was in the dark about this fact. but sometimes blake steered gray in the morally right path, despite the hunter having doubts about his morals…sometimes blake helping gray make the tough choices, the morally grey choices.gray would soon be introduced to castiel, although it wasn’t through the winchesters. it was through blake…blake making up a lie to say that blake only knew castiel through the winchesters, to which castiel played along to help blake cover up the fact they were an angel because of gray’s relationship with religion. after shaking castiel’s hand, gray would feel a sense of peace wash over him. he couldn’t describe it, but it was nice. castiel had a peaceful presence to him, but that would occasionally be disturbed whenever castiel had to put his foot down and direct gray down a certain path. one that didn’t involve coping with alcohol and weed. (which gray still does from time to time, but not as much.)
castiel took both blake and gray under his guidance. bobby and the winchester brothers doing the same…this was the first time gray felt like he had a family.

X He may not admit it but he always feels alone and he feels like everyone hates him, which is why he has such a strong willed attitude.X When a guy / male presenting person dates them, Gray is definitely a subby. He loves being taken care of by another, but of course they won’t admit it because of their strong willed attitude.X Whenever He gets anxious or nervous they will scratch their arms, digging his finger nails into their skin, making them bleed. There are several scars he tries to hide.X Whenever hes alone or bored he will play his guitar and sing.X He hates showing emotion in front of others. he doesn’t want to seem vulnerable.X they always wear their aunt’s old necklace.X He carries himself in a manner that only he himself knows to be an act. their exterior of self confidence and sophistication is used to shield the emotional interior and provide a sense of security from the anxieties of the world.X He does wear glasses but VERY rarely.X He sometimes gets very vivid nightmares from when he was young and they will wake up, scratching at his arms and sobbing.X If you truly get to know them as a person, he will actually care for you and do his best to help you.X They have a sarcastic attitude most of the time but that’s to shield his anxiety and depression.X He isn’t afraid to speak his mind, especially with his short fuse. They aren’t afraid to put their foot down and express what’s on his mind.X He will sometimes pull all nighters to avoid any nightmares he may have.X Gray suffers from serious religious trauma due to some of the houses that took him in. he went to church with some of them and what they preached made him feel like a complete burden and hassle. he felt like who he was growing up was a ‘sin’, that who he was was terrible.
( shameless verse and the fandomless verse for the most part )X With gray’s religious trauma he has a hard time believing in angels, he’s a lot like dean when it comes to this experience. he’s unsure what to believe. whether that’s angels or a god, whatever. it’s hard for him to fully comprehend anything other than the monsters he hunts. ( supernatural verse )

after gray turned 21, that was when his band had finally found their style and sound, finally landing a label, helping gray cope with so much trauma. the music he performed and wrote helped him heal from the traumas of the abuse he endured and the traumas of poor foster care. however, gray still struggled with ptsd from said trauma, even after coping through music. but gray had finally earned enough to attend therapy sessions in hopes it’d actually help him with all the trauma, and gray had enough for his own place, no longer needing to couch hop everywhere.he still struggles with drinking, just not as heavy as before. when gray was 18-19, even in actual foster care, gray would continue to drink. but by 20 he at least had some type of control over it, by 22 he was sober.gray still smokes cigarettes, it keeps him from touching as much alcohol as he did before.
